Terms & Conditions

General Terms and Conditions

The driving instructor will provide driving tuition to the pupil at the hourly rate communicated by Larissa Driving School. While maintaining the right to refuse driving tuition, the Instructor will not engage in any actions violating anti-discrimination legislation. The company retains the right to substitute an instructor or vehicle if deemed necessary. Cancellation of driving lessons must be directly communicated to the instructor at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson to avoid the lesson fee being charged. However, cancellations for intensive driving courses or block-booked lessons require a notice period of 10 working days; otherwise, the course will incur charges. The company disclaims any liability for the actions, oversights, or negligence of the driving instructor, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the use of the tuition vehicle. The driving instructor is an independent franchisee, self-employed, and regulated by the government’s Driving Standards Agency.

The Driving Test

The instructor has the discretion to withhold the use of the driving school car for the driving test if the pupil has not achieved a satisfactory level of driving competence.

Block Bookings Terms and Conditions

Block bookings provide clients with the opportunity to make priority bookings weeks in advance for the total time duration of the purchased block booking. This includes selecting specific daytime slots.
Daytime block bookings are applicable only for weekday time slots. If evening or weekend slots are desired, an additional evening/weekend surcharge must be paid.
Customers seeking more than 1 x 2-hour lesson per week must opt for a block booking to receive additional lessons, allowing for a maximum of up to 3 x 2-hour lessons per week, subject to instructor availability.
If I (the pupil) choose to cancel a lesson within the 48-hour notice period, I acknowledge that this late cancellation will be deducted from my pre-purchased block booking.
As a customer, I am aware that once a block booking is paid for, it is non-transferable and non-refundable.
Instructors should be informed of any cancellations at least two clear working days prior to the lesson. Cancellations within this timeframe will result in being charged the full rate of the booked lesson, or the hours will be deducted from the block booking/course time. This policy is enforced independently by our instructors and head office.
If a client fails to attend a driving lesson without prior notice via phone or email, the lesson will be charged in full.
If a client fails to meet the instructor for the scheduled booked lesson, the time will be deducted from the remaining duration of the lesson, and the client will be charged in full for the booked appointment. Clients are reminded that they are paying for the instructor’s time and are reserving specific start and finish times in the instructor’s scheduled working diary.
In cases where the instructor may arrive slightly late for a lesson due to circumstances beyond their control, efforts will be made to extend the finish time of the lesson by the same amount of time or add the time to a future lesson.
Larissa Driving School maintains a Zero Tolerance policy. Any customers displaying threatening, abusive, violent, or harassing behavior towards our office staff or instructors will be reported to the police. Their current lesson and all future lessons with the instructor and Larissa Driving School will be terminated.

Block bookings/pre-paid lessons must be taken within 16 weeks period of payment, if not, the pupil relinquishes the right to take these paid lessons. If you require an extension, kindly request via our office before expiry (16 weeks).

Block bookings/special offers are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Refunds for a block of driving lessons or special offers due to relocation outside our operational area are not permitted.

Transferring or selling purchased lessons under your name is strictly prohibited.

Intensive Course Conditions

Upon the initial booking of the assessment lesson leading to intensive courses, any dates and times quoted before the assessment lesson, leading to intensive tuition, are subject to change on a daily basis. This fluctuation is due to high demand and peak times. Your specialized instructor will confirm intensive course dates during your two-hour assessment lesson.

If the intensive instructor or office staff suggests a course that would benefit the client, the client acknowledges that additional lessons may be needed if they encounter challenges during the training. Consequently, the driving test is scheduled 3-8 weeks after course completion. If there is still an area of difficulty, and the instructor believes there may not be sufficient time to address it with available lesson slots, the instructor will advise the client to reschedule the test date before the 3-working day notification window.

At the end of the assessment session, the client must decide within 48 hours if they wish to proceed and book the recommended course. A minimum of 25% of the course fee is to be paid directly to Larissa Driving School, with the remaining balance settled a minimum of 28 days before the course begins.

If I (the pupil) choose to cancel my intensive course, either before or during, I am fully aware that any course fees paid for my training are non-refundable or transferable.

Larissa Driving School operates as an inclusive business, and some team members may experience ongoing health issues, occasionally requiring the rescheduling of a training session or weekly driving lesson. I (the pupil) fully understand that the instructor will rearrange the canceled lesson or training session on my remaining training days of my intensive course.

If a client fails to attend a driving lesson without prior notice via phone or email, the lesson will be charged in full.

If a client fails to meet the instructor for the scheduled booked lesson, that time will be deducted from the remaining duration of the lesson, and the client will be charged in full for the booked appointment. Clients are reminded that they are paying for the instructor’s time and reserving specific start and finish times in the instructor’s scheduled working diary.

In cases where the instructor may arrive slightly late for a lesson due to circumstances beyond their control, the instructor will make efforts to extend the finish time of the lesson by the same amount of time or add the time to a future lesson.

While we strive to prepare you for the test and improve your skills, we cannot guarantee test readiness as everyone learns at a different pace. Additional lessons beyond 11 hours are charged at the normal lesson rate. If more than 11 hours of additional training is booked or needed, the pricing falls under intensive course pricing (with the same payment process as the initial course).

Larissa Driving School has a Zero Tolerance policy. Customers displaying threatening, abusive, violent, or harassing behavior toward any of our office staff or instructors will be reported to the police. Their current lesson and all future lessons with the instructor and Larissa Driving School will be terminated.

By booking lessons with Larissa Driving School, you agree to our terms and conditions.

Payments

All cheques must be made payable to “Larissa Driving School” and accompanied by a valid banker’s card. Cash and Credit cards are accepted for block bookings and intensive courses.

The company disclaims responsibility for advance payments, cash, or cheques payable to instructors. In cases where payments are made directly to the driving instructor, the company will not assume any responsibility for the instructor’s acts, defaults, or failures to fulfill their obligations.

Complaints Procedure

An informal discussion about the matter in question will be held with your Driving Instructor.

In the absence of agreement or settlement, the pupil should submit the complaint in writing (hardcopy) to the manager of Britannia, attaching any supporting documentation or information.

The manager will only address complaints directly from the concerned pupil. Hearsay grievances from relatives or friends will not be accepted.

Complaints reported 30 days after the incident will not be considered.

Larissa Driving School aims to respond to complaints within 14 working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays.

All Approved Driving Instructors are regulated by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency), and any unresolved disputes with an individual instructor can be referred to DSA customer service. The DSA does not intervene in matters related to payment of tuition fees, readiness for the test, or any contractual issues not directly associated with driving tuition.
